Felipe is a leading practitioner in international and domestic arbitration. With more than 14 years of experience, he has a proven track record in successfully advising and representing clients in complex arbitrations originated by disputes related to the construction, infrastructure, mining, oil & gas, corporate and commercial sectors in general, under the rules of the CCB, the ICC and ICDR, mainly. Such arbitrations have been conducted in English and Spanish and have had different seats, such as New York, Paris, and Bogotá, and different laws applicable to the merits such as New York law, Texas law, and Colombian law. Prior to joining Benavides Mejía Dispute Resolution, Felipe has developed broad experience working in local and international law firms.

Felipe is an arbitrator, listed in the roster of both international and domestic arbitrators of the arbitration centers of the Cámara de Comercio de Cali and Cámara de Comercio de Medellín in Colombia, and the roster of international arbitrators of the Centro de Mediación y Arbitraje Comercial – CEMARC – of the Cámara Argentina de Comercio y Servicios in Argentina, and has served as tribunal secretary in international arbitrations.

Felipe combines his practice with academia, something that allows him to keep at the forefront of the legal profession. He teaches domestic and international arbitration, investment arbitration and private law in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in several universities and institutions such as the Universidad El Bosque, the Universidad del Rosario, the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá and the Chamber of Commerce of Cali, among others.
Felipe speaks Spanish and English.
