Represented a major Asian (Chinese) consortium in an international arbitration under the rules of the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, against a state-owned energy company, regarding the breach of an EPC contract for the procurement, engineering, construction, installation, and commercial operation of a power plant. Amount in dispute exceeded USD 200,000,000.

Represented a USA company and a local company in an international arbitration under the ICC Rules, in a dispute with subsidiaries of a multinational company concerning the termination of contracts for the maintenance and repair of specialized equipment used in mining operations. Amount in dispute exceeded USD 200,000,000.

Represented a multinational company in the consumer goods sector in an international arbitration under the ICC Rules, in a dispute arising from the termination of an Offtake Agreement. Amount in dispute exceeded USD 185,000,000.

Represented a subsidiary of a state-owned entity of the public utilities sector in an international arbitration under the ICC Rules seated in New York, in a dispute with a construction consortium of globally recognized companies related to the construction of a water treatment plant. Amount in dispute exceeded USD 160,000,000.

International Arbitration

Represented the subsidiary of a major British company in an international arbitration seated in New York under the ICC Rules, regarding the breach of a multimillion-dollar share purchase agreement involving a company with assets in Colombia. Amount in dispute exceeded USD 60,000,000.

Represented a transportation company in relation to a high-profile infrastructure project, in an international arbitration under ICC Rules related to a dispute that involved a Design Contract based on the FIDIC White Book model, including delays in design delivery, cost overruns, and other breaches. Approximate amount in dispute: USD 60,000,000

Domestic Arbitration

Represented a state-owned company of the public utilities sector in a domestic arbitration administered by the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, in a dispute related to the SPA and certain payment clauses, following a multimillion-dollar transaction for the acquisition of companies in the energy sector. Amount in dispute exceeded COP 150,000 million.

Represented a major Chinese company in a domestic arbitration under the rules of the Arbitration Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, filed by a construction company in relation to the civil works contract for the construction of a power generation plant. Approximate amount in dispute: USD 45,000,000.

Represented a public entity of the energy sector in a domestic arbitration administered by the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, in a dispute arising from the liquidation of a contract for the operation and distribution of energy. Approximate amount in dispute: USD 25,000,000.

Litigation

Represented a multinational engineering company before Colombian courts in a litigation filed by the insurance company, related to the damage of the turbine of a thermoelectric plant. Approximate amount in dispute: USD 20,000,000.

Represented a leading global technology company in a litigation brought by a former distributor. Approximate amount in dispute: USD 20,000,000.

Mediation and ADR

Represented a multinational engineering services company of the oil and gas industry in a dispute brought by a former partner. The matter was settled. Approximate amount in dispute: USD 35,000,000.

Represented a Swiss chemicals company in a dispute related to the purchase of a property for the construction of a factory. The matter was settled. Approximate amount in dispute: USD 10,000,000.
